School Story:
When I graduated from Bowen in 1967, I didn't imagine that my teaching life would start there. It was a wonderful experience. I am still friends with many of my colleagues and students from those years, as well as the friends of my sisters who were also Bowenites. (One cousin always teases me that I made her call me Miss Arias when I was her homeroom teacher )
I agree with Sue Ontiveros when she wrote about the changes that Bowen and our communities on that far south east side went through.
I have always felt that teaching is like reading and helping to create chapters in novels. We never know what happens in the rest of the story. How lucky I am to catch up on another chapter.
